Manchester United Manager Asks about La Liga Midfielder

With the end of the season in sight, Manchester United are on the cusp of returning to Champions League football. Compared to their sixth-place finish last year, this is a huge improvement from the Red Devils, but not quite what the 13-time champions are used to. However, manager Erik Ten Hag will look to improve the team even further if he is to compete with their in-city rivals and the rest of the league. According to Matteo Morretto, the Dutchman is already asking about Kang-in Lee

The attacking midfielder could strengthen the goal-scoring threat of the team who currently has the 9th best offence in the league.

Exciting Exit

With the player and team agreeing on a move, Moretto confirmed that the youngster would leave the club in April. Valued at €15.00m, a move to Manchester United could be tremendous business for the club considering his talent and potential.

The South Korean has six goals and five assists in 33 appearances for Mallorca, being involved in 33% of goals scored for the Spanish team. Not only would Lee provide quality depth to United’s midfield, but Ten Hag could also utilize his versatility in a number of roles.

Iconic Connection

Being a big admirer of Ji-Sung Park, Kang-in Lee could have the chance to star for the same club as his idol. If the midfielder is torn between potential suitors, this could stand out as a deciding factor when it comes to who he picks to play for next season.

The move will surely increase the popularity of the player within his country as well, similarly to Tottenham winger Hueng Min-Son.

The Competition for Playing Time

Despite what the South Korean brings to the table, he will have to compete against other rising stars in United’s squad for minutes. At only 18 years old, Alejandro Garnacho has impressed fans with his goal-scoring abilities. Also, loanee Amad Diallo’s loan to Sunderland has been a huge success: leading the club to one win away from earning a playoff final game to the Premier League.

It would be an amazing opportunity for Kang-in Lee to move to his idol’s club in the Premier League, but it also provides its challenges. However, if Ten Hag can bring out the potential Lee brings, he could add another quality piece to a midfield that hopes to be the backbone of a title-competing team next season.
