The Blues have yet to play entertaining football under interim manager Frank Lampard, with the club losing all games, since his return as interim manager. Steinburg states that Chelsea are continuing with their search for the perfect manager.

It’s added that Postecoglou is a surprising addition to the managerial shortlist after earning an impressive reputation for his good work as Celtic manager. The 57-year-old manager helped Celtic win the Scottish Premiership title last season and ensured that they’re dominating the current campaign as well.
However, it is also stated Chelsea are favouring Mauricio Pochettino for the job of becoming the new permanent manager after Julian Nagelsmann reportedly removed himself from contention. The report in The Guardian also states Postecoglou is an “outsider” in the Chelsea managerial race.
Who Is Ange Postecoglou?
The Australian manager has over 25 years of coaching experience, managing both club and international sides. Indeed, Postecoglou spent his initial managerial career in Australia – where he even took over the national U-17 and U-20 teams.
He managed A-League clubs like Brisbane Roar (whom he helped win the league title in the 2010-11 season) and Melbourne Victory. The 57-year-old was the Australia national team manager and helped them compete strongly in the 2014 FIFA World Cup and qualify for the 2018 competition. He also helped Australia win the 2015 AFC Asian Cup. Postecoglou joined Celtic in 2021 and has helped them dominate Scottish Football in recent seasons.

After guiding them to the 2021-22 Scottish Premiership title, Postecoglou has helped them continue their domination this season – with Celtic picking up 91 points in the league in 33 games – winning 30 and scoring 102 goals. He’s been praised by many, including former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves for his “beautiful attacking football” and is known for his encouraging, exciting attacking style – which is why Chelsea reportedly consider him a possible option to replace Potter.
