The managerial hot seat at Chelsea may not be vacant for long as Fabrizio Romano reports that Luis Enrique is “in England right now” with representatives to have a discussion over the role.
It is believed that the manager is “100% keen on Chelsea job” as he aims to re-enter the football world after being sacked by Spain following their poor showing in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Past Performance
Despite losing his last job due to poor performance, the Blues are in talks with one of the best managers of the past decade. His quality speaks for itself as he had a very successful stint at the helm of Barcelona where he finished with a 76% winning percentage.

Before his time in charge of the Catalan giants, he got his start in management at Barcelona B where was so successful that Roma came calling. While things didn’t go to plan in Italy he immediately turned things around at Celta Vigo before joining the club he played for to end off his playing career.
Experience vs Promise
One of the big questions about Chelsea’s managerial search is whether they will aim to go for an experienced manager after the Graham Potter reign went so poorly. Julian Nagelsemann is strongly linked with the job, but his lack of experience may be a negative in the eyes of the ownership at Stamford Bridge.

Enrique, in comparison, has 15 years of experience and has coached at a number of clubs in different countries both at club and international level. This difference may tip things in the favor of the Spaniard who was named FIFA World Coach of the Year back in 2015.
