Chelsea have confirmed that they’ve decided to part ways with manager Graham Potter, only seven months after bringing him to the club from Brighton. This marks the Blues’ second managerial sacking this season after they let go of Thomas Tuchel early into the season.

Chelsea Reveal Immediate Plan to Replace Potter
The Englishman arrived from Brighton in September and had a pretty impressive first few games as Chelsea’s manager before things started to go from bad to worse. The Blues have only won three out of their 13 games in 2023, even after splurging huge money on signing Enzo Fernandez and Mykhailo Mudryk in the January window. The 2-0 loss to Aston Villa on Saturday proved to be the final straw for him. With Potter sacked, assistant coach Bruno Saltor will take over as interim manager ahead of their next Premier League game against Liverpool.

Speaking about the decision to part ways with Potter, co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali said: “On behalf of everyone at the club, we want to thank Graham sincerely for his contribution to Chelsea. We have the highest degree of respect for Graham as a coach and as a person. He has always conducted himself with professionalism and integrity and we are all disappointed in this outcome.
“Along with our incredible fans, we will all be getting behind Bruno and the team as we focus on the rest of the season. We have 10 Premier League games remaining and a Champions League quarter-final ahead. We will put every effort and commitment into every one of those games so that we can end the season on a high.”
Potter Made to Pay For Disappointing Chelsea Form
The reason behind Chelsea pushing to appoint Potter was because of his impressive work as Brighton’s manager. The Blues’ legend John Terry even hailed him as ‘one of the best young managers in world football earlier this season for his impressive work.

However, the 47-year-old failed to adapt to the change in expectations and couldn’t take the pressure of managing a big club like Chelsea. He took charge of 31 games as their manager, only winning on 12 occasions and losing 11 times.
