The Dutchman’s Time in Munich
Despite impressing in the Eredivisie, Gravenberch, who is on £155k-a-week, has had a hard time asserting himself in Germany. The 20-year-old has made 24 appearances across all competitions for the Bavarian club, of which he was on the pitch for more than 45 minutes on only three occasions. Moreover, he has only had 2 goal contributions across the year for the club.

The likes of Leon Goretzka, Joshua Kimmich and Jamal Musiala were preferred by recently sacked manager Julian Nagelsmann over the Dutchman. However, with the hiring of Thomas Tuchel, things might change for the better for the youngster.
Ryan Gravenberch’s Potential
The former Ajax man is widely regarded as one of the most exciting young midfielders in world football. He has been described as “dominant” and even compared to Paul Pogba due to his physicality, technical ability, and vision. Both players are tall, powerful midfielders who are comfortable on the ball and can make driving runs through midfield.
How Could Liverpool Benefit From a Potential Transfer?
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is in desperate need of a midfield revamp this summer. The Merseysiders have struggled in that department this summer and a disappointing campaign will see them finish without any silverware to their name. Moreover, with both Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain departing this summer, coupled with Fabinho’s poor form, Klopp is looking for at least two new additions in the middle of the park.

The Reds have looked at a number of potential signings to fill the midfield void, ranging from Stanislav Lobotka to Jude Bellingham, with the latter being valued at over £100 million. Gravenberch could however prove to be the cut-price answer to their midfield woes.
