Manchester United Set to Keep £90k Per Week Trio of Youngsters That Club Legends Love

Brandon Williams

According to Simon Stone, Brandon Williams will be staying at Manchester United unless there is a very quick change in events. Fans love young and promising players that come through Carrington’s youth system, and club legends at Old Trafford including Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand and Paul Scholes reportedly love the young full-back. Not only are the club looking to retain the full-back, but Facundo Pellistri and Anthony Elanga look likely to stay at the club with no major rumours of a move.

Why Manchester United Are Keeping Brandon Williams?

A lot of young players at top six clubs get loan offers from other sides throughout the transfer window, with Anthony Elanga especially drawing interest throughout this window. According to Ben Ransom on Sky Sports News, the youngster was one of the few players that could leave the first-team squad before the end of the window. That doesn’t seem to be the case anymore, with the full-back staying with Erik ten Hag’s squad for the rest of the season.

The Benefits of a Loan

Brandon Williams would have undoubtedly seen a lot of benefits from going on a loan. After all, his stint at Norwich last season prompted a lot of interest from club legends at the end of last season. That includes his famous altercation with Christian Eriksen.

In addition to a greater profile, a loan deal can provide players with far more experience. Williams got a lot of football at Norwich and learned a lot about match situations rather than simply spending more time in training and on the bench. The player can develop and a club can grow the value of their players, it’s a win-win.

Who Else is Staying at Manchester United?

Facundo Pellistri and Anthony Elanga are other options that could have left on loan, but that seems increasingly unlikely. Elanga drew a lot of interest earlier in the window with no other clubs claiming the player, whilst there has been very little said about Pellistri making a move. Between Williams, Pellistri and Elanga, the trio make an estimated £90k per week.
