Harry Toffolo Signs for Nottingham Forest
A Shrewd Addition for Forest
Huddersfield Town left-back Harry Toffolo has completed a move to Nottingham Forest. Despite hiccups regarding personal terms, the defender has agreed to a deal after wanting Premier League football – something the Terriers, unfortunately, failed to secure promotion in the play-off final.

Forest approached Huddersfield about both Lewis O’Brien and Toffolo at the same time. Looking for a deal to sign both, Town and Forest appeared to have agreed terms. O’Brien had a release clause in his contract with the Yorkshire club, but Toffolo was in his last year.
Can’t wait to meet you all. So happy to be at this historic football club. A chance to fulfill a childhood dream of premier league football at @NFFC is so exciting for me and my family. See you soon 🔴⚪️ pic.twitter.com/TtGk10I5LV

Personal Terms
A stumbling block appeared when Toffolo could not initially agree on personal terms with Forest. However, this issue was finally resolved. It looks as though O’Brien will follow the defender 55 miles down the road. Huddersfield will receive fees for both players.
Steve Cooper said of the new signing: “Harry is an excellent addition to the squad and adds quality and depth to a position that we were keen to strengthen this summer.
“We saw first-hand last season how effective Harry can be from wide positions and he’s also a player that wants to continue his improvement and we, as a coaching staff, look forward to helping him with that and we look forward to welcoming him to the group.”
Toffolo added: “I’m extremely delighted to be here, to be able to join a football club with this much stature is fantastic and to have the opportunity to play in the Premier League is something I couldn’t turn down.” he said.
“I’m excited, really looking forward to meeting the lads and we want to push forward in this division. We’ll push each other every day and we’ve got a fantastic squad being put together.
“I’m a player who wears his heart on his sleeve and I’m someone that will fight for the badge and for the team every single minute and now I can’t wait to get started.”

This is a good move for Toffolo. Although playing time may be limited, as unlikely to be the first choice left back, as Forest have signed Omar Richards from Bayern Munich. The Huddersfield defender wanted Premier League football, and with the Nottinghamshire club coming in for him, took the move.
Huddersfield have signed a new left-back of their own, so Toffolo is free to take this move and the Terriers don’t have a last-minute rush to find a replacement. Forest have had a busy summer window so far, preparing for an assault on the top flight of English football. Toffolo adds to their squad as they look to try and establish themselves as a Premier League club.
