Tottenham Hotspur Remain Confident in Signing Filip Kostic This Summer

Filip Kostic

Alasdair Gold has taken to his YouTube channel and revealed an ever-growing optimism that Filip Kostic will be a Tottenham Hotspur player for the next campaign. Spurs are looking to cash in and replace Sergio Reguilon this summer and have their eyes on Kostic to replace the Spaniard. Both Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici are known to be fond of the Eintracht Frankfurt player.

“He’s a player that I think Paratici and Conte both like. And obviously, the price is not going to be as high as it would have normally been,” he said as he addressed his YouTube viewers.

“So that’s one that they’re going to look at, they’re going to try and sign I think. There’s a lot of interest in him, but we’ll see. I think there’s a growing confidence that he might be someone that they can bring in this summer.”

Tottenham had dispatched scouts to see the 29-year-old perform in the Europa League final, according to The Daily Express. The Premier League club are now ready to make a bid for him.

A Busy Summer for Spurs

Following their definitive position in the Champions League next season, Tottenham will be looking to bolster their squad under Antonio Conte.

The North London club have recently received a financial boost this summer which will hopefully lend to attracting some big stars to join them. An additional £150 million of equity is in the hands of Conte to build the squad and cater to his needs.

The exchange of Kostic for Reguilon may be a sensible place to start in what will be a busy summer for Tottenham.

Filip Kostic Available At Cut-Price Free

His contract with Frankfurt means he will be available for a fee that seems like an opportunity that can’t be missed out on.

The Frankfurt star is reportedly available for a fee of around £12.7 million since he has just one year left on his current contract. Kostic has recently been integral in Frankfurt’s European success against Scottish side Rangers. He is being viewed as the ideal replacement for Reguilon due to his versatility on the left-hand side of the pitch.

He would lend himself to the left wing-back role in Conte’s system in North London. He has defensive stability alongside an impressive output considering he’s assisted 63 times in 169 games in all competitions for Die Adler.

Although his cheap price tag may entice Tottenham, there have been other big clubs interested in Kostic’s services. Gazzetta have reported that Juventus are also keen on signing the Serbian.
