A Son Heung-Min wonder goal capped off a fantastic performance as Tottenham Hotspur picked up three vital points against Leicester City.
Son Heung-Min Wonder Goal Inspires Tottenham Hotspur to Vital Win
Sonny Amongst the Goals
Despite conceding late on, Tottenham managed to gather some second-half momentum to take all three points. Son played a part in all three goals that Spurs scored, starting with a corner kick assist for none other than Harry Kane. Then Son picked up the ball in the box in the second half, finishing low past Kasper Schmeichel.
But the absolute pick of the bunch was his wonder goal. The introduction of Dejan Kulusevski gave Spurs some much-needed drive on the right wing. Following one of the Swede’s marauding runs up the right, Kulusevski passed the ball inside to Son. Sonny then shifted the ball to his left foot and let fly. A curling shot from outside of the box, right-hand side, the ball arced beautifully into the top left corner. Yet another Puskas worthy finish from Son, who is chasing down the Golden Boot.
What is more, Son has broken his personal record for most goals scored in a season at Spurs.
Son Heung-min has scored 19 Premier League goals this season. The most he has ever scored in one campaign. He’s just three behind Mo Salah in the race for the Golden Boot. #THFC

Tottenham Hotspur Top Four Race
Antonio Conte has already urged his team to treat each match like a final as Spurs continue to battle for a place in the top four. By winning today, Spurs have definitely kept themselves in that race, with that North London Derby still looming large on Thursday, 12th May.
But Tottenham could already be done and dusted by now. Fans are frustrated that Spurs could not keep up their run of form following their big victories against Newcastle United and Aston Villa. Faltering against Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford, Tottenham now have to make up the points against Liverpool and then Arsenal. These next two fixtures will really test Spurs’ bottle to finish in the top four this season.
Conte said: “No-one could have imagined when I arrived in November we could be in this race still, but these players are deserving to fight for such an important place. It is not easy to qualify for the Champions League in England,”
He continued: “I think we were more clinical in this game. There was space for us and we exploited it very well. That was the key.”
Cristian Romero Tackles Galore
Romero has settled remarkably quickly at Spurs. And his performance against Leicester was again worthy of much credit. After the departure of Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen Tottenham were looking lost at the back. But Romero has come in and really shored things up. Not only is he a solid centre-back in terms of his tackles and aerial ability, but crucially he is willing to step forward, clatter through a player and then know exactly where to move the ball forwards. Just imagine a defence with Romero and a prime Alderweireld and Vertonghen!
