Xavi Reluctant to Say No to Robert Lewandowski Transfer

Robert Lewandowski Summer Transfer on the Cards

Xavi said in a Europa League pre-match presser: “Lewandowski to Barça? For sure Lewandowski’s a great player but we have to focus on the Europa League game.
“I can understand your question – but it’s not the right moment to discuss about it”.
In his reply to the press, Xavi reveals that Barcelona may well want to have a forward of Lewandowski’s quality at the club. And it is no surprise. Even as Lewandowski enters the twilight stages of his career, he still bangs in the goals. So far this season, across 41 appearances, Lewandowski has scored 47 goals and registered 4 assists.
Despite Barcelona’s interest in Lewandowski, it is unlikely that the striker will move to Barcelona in the summer. This is especially considering Bayern Munich CEO’s latest statement.

Oliver Kahn says Lewandowski’s Future is with Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn said: “He’s gonna stay with us next season”.
The latest update to this ongoing Robert Lewandowski transfer saga is the player wants a three year deal to stay at the club. This detail, reported by Fabrizio Romano, is key. Otherwise, the player could leave in the summer.
At the moment, Barcelona’s current link with Lewandowski is tenuous. They are only in touch via the player’s agent, with no contact between Barcelona and Bayern Munich about the player’s future. So at the moment, Kahn’s comment on the future of Lewandowski stands; the player is staying at Bayern, with his contract running out in June 2023 and a renewal deal on the table.
But just imagine the boost that a player like Lewandowski could bring to Barcelona. No forward can fill the void left by Lionel Messi, but Lewandowski at least brings a prolific level of goalscoring and the experience of winning trophies and accolades.
