Manager Mark Cooper has left Barrow on Sunday, March 20. His departure follows a 2-1 loss to Carlisle United on Saturday.
Barrow sit 21st in League Two, six points clear of the drop, with nine games remaining.

Club Statement
On Sunday afternoon, the club released a statement on barrowafc.com with chairman Paul Hornby stating: “After discussions on Saturday, it was ultimately decided that we would go our separate ways.
“We would like to thank both Mark and Richard for their efforts during their time at Barrow and wish them every success in the future.”
Assistant manager Richard Dryden has also left the League Two side.
The club promised to provide a further update in due course.
Mark Cooper’s Tenure as Manager
An experienced manager, 53-year-old Mark Cooper took charge at Barrow in May 2021, signing a three-year deal.
A midfielder in his playing days, Cooper hasn’t managed to last even the first year of that contract, leaving the club by mutual consent.
Before Barrow, he spent five years at Forest Green Rovers.
In February 2022, Cooper was given an eight-game touchline ban by The FA after being found guilty in relation to making reference to gender when commenting on the performance of a match official. He was also fined £3,000 and ordered to attend a face-to-face education course. Cooper had denied the allegations but an independent regulatory commission subsequently proved him to be in the wrong.
Coming Up for Barrow
Barrow’s next game sees them travel to Leyton Orient on Saturday, March 26. Orient are just three points above them in the table and recently appointed former Doncaster Rovers boss Richie Wellens as head coach.
They will then host Port Vale at Holker Street a week later.
