Derby County is set to accept another big points deduction which all but seals their relegation from the Championship, according to The Telegraph.
Talks with the English Football League will conclude with nine further points taken away – and three additional points suspended – from Wayne Rooney’s side.
The decision ends a long-running saga between Derby and the EFL. The administrator’s appeal against a previous 12 point deduction will also be dropped.
Derby will have lost 21 points due to breaches of Financial Fair Play for this season.

Relegation Inevitable
It is a major blow to any survival hopes Rooney had. Despite being dealt with numerous difficulties, he has attempted to implement a vigorous spirit into his team by building a strong defence. Only the top three have conceded fewer in the Championship.
However, attacking quality is thin and is one of the main on-the-field reasons for just three league wins this season. Derby’s chances of survival is a bleak picture, with the club on minus three points and 18 points behind 21st placed Peterborough United.
Closure
One minor positive Derby and their fans can take from this latest setback is it delivers closure for the club.
The report says three consortiums are talking to the administrators over a possible takeover. The conflict with the EFL has held back any deal proceeding.
With the judiciary saga finished, the new owners will at least know the fate of the club and what is required. Whoever becomes the new custodians will have their work cut out to rebuild Derby, and put this troubling history behind them.
