Pablo Sarabia Joins Sporting CP on Loan From PSG
Switch to Portugal for Sarabia
Spanish international Pablo Sarabia has made a loan switch to Portuguese outfit Sporting. The 29-year-old arrives in Lisbon on loan from Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain.
The midfielder joined Les Parisiens from Sevilla in 2019 and has gone on to make 79 appearances for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, scoring 22 times. However, with the French outfit signing Nuno Mendes on loan from Sporting, the two clubs continued their business with another loan deal.
That transfer could have been key in this move, with Atletico Madrid reportedly interested in signing Sarabia.
Career So Far
Sarabia will bring some experience to Sporting, with the 29-year-old closing in on 450 career appearances at club level.
The midfielder came through the ranks at Real Madrid but managed just one senior appearance for Los Blancos.
He joined Getafe in 2011 and made 35 goal contributions from 146 appearances. This resulted in a move to Sevilla, where he scored 43 goals and added 38 assists from 151 outings during a three-year spell.
In 2019, Sarabia joined PSG, where he has scored 22 times from 79 appearances for the capital club. His time in Paris has been littered with accolades, including one Ligue 1 title and five domestic cups.
