Nat Phillips may be able to leave Liverpool before the transfer window comes to a close today, with several parties interested in a potential move for the player according to The Athletic.
Nat Phillips Could Depart Liverpool
Nat Phillips Impressed for Liverpool Last Season
With the Reds struggling with a number of key defensive injuries last season, the player was thrown into the mix and featured in 17 games for the club over the course of the campaign.
He was solid for the side despite having previously never played a game for Liverpool up until the 2020/21 season and now, after his showings in the Premier League, there is a number of teams ready to try and bring him in before the end of the transfer window.
If they wanted to sign the defender on a permanent basis, he wouldn’t be too expensive, with the Reds expected to ask for around £12 million.
Good Option at the Back
Phillips has provided the Anfield side with some additional support to their backline since being there but could now be allowed to leave the side in search of more regular action.
Even if it is on a short-term basis, more gametime would surely appeal to both club and player this campaign, especially if he is unlikely to feature much for the Reds this year.
The most games he has played in a season came during his time in Germany and his stint at Stuttgart. With 19 games under his belt (and two assists to boot) he helped the side reach second in the 2. Bundesliga.
He’s still just 24-years old and, although he hasn’t had too much action so far – he has not even made 50 appearances in his career so far – he has plenty of potential and plenty to offer.
Therefore, a move out now could be hugely beneficial to Phillips – and it sounds like he has no shortage of suitors wanting to bring him in before the close of action too.
