Lincoln City have confirmed the signing of defender TJ Eyoma from Tottenham Hotspur. The 21-year-old joins the Imps on a permanent deal after two successful loan spells with the League One side.

Currently, though, it is not known what the length of Eyoma’s contract at Lincoln is, while the fee they will have paid to Spurs also remains undisclosed.

Eyoma Impressed in Loan Spells

Eyoma first joined Lincoln on loan for the second half of the 2019/20 season, but only went on to feature in just three games for the Imps – all of which came in the EFL Trophy.

Lincoln, though, elected to take Eyoma on loan again for the full season last campaign. He went on to establish himself as a mainstay in Michael Appleton’s side, appearing as both a right-back and centre-half, while going on to feature in 53 games in all competitions.

The England U19 international netted his first, and only goal at present for Lincoln back in April against Burton Albion, which proved to be the game winner in a 1-0 victory.

After being unveiled in front Lincoln’s fans ahead of their fixture against Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday evening, manager Appleton could name Eyoma in his squad for Saturday’s trip to Wycombe Wanderers.

Defender Leaves Spurs With a Solitary Senior Appearance

Eyoma came through the academy ranks at Tottenham and, although he spent the majority of his time in North London in the Premier League 2, he does depart for Lincoln having made one appearance with the senior team. He featured in an FA Cup third-round tie against Tranmere Rovers back in January 2019, coming on as a substitute under Mauricio Pochettino.

Following his transfer to the League One side, neither Spurs nor Lincoln have mentioned whether Eyoma’s contract has any kind of buy-back clause, which could see him potentially return to the capital. For now though, the defender can look forward to playing regular senior football under the tutelage of Michael Appleton.
