Lincoln City have confirmed that manager Michael Appleton has signed a new four-year deal at the LNER Stadium.
The Imps boss was linked with a move to Bristol City following the sacking of Dean Holden. However, after confirming that he did not hold an interest in the role at Ashton Gate, he has now agreed a new four-year deal.

Statement of Intent From the Imps
The Imps have enjoyed a huge amount of success under Appleton this season, after an initial tough start to life with the Imps.
The 45-year-old joined the club after replacing Danny Cowley at the LNER Stadium. It turned out to be the worst possible start to life in Lincolnshire, as he watched a 6-0 mauling at the hands of Oxford United from the stands.
A run of one win in seven followed, as the Imps fell down the League One table. However, a 2-0 win away to Burton Albion proved to be a turning point, as they won four of their next six.
Appleton’s first season with the club was cut short due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The postponement, however, turned out to be a blessing in disguise for Appleton and the Imps.
The club oversaw a high turnover of players as the Imps boss looked to reduce the average of the squad. Only two players remained from the squad that started the previous season under Danny Cowley, but the new look squad that gelled better than expected.
Lincoln currently sit second in the league after taking 57 points from their opening 29 games. In many respects, they are exceeding expectations; however, the Imps will now be targeting play-offs at bare minimum.
