According to Matt Law of The Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur are looking at Julian Nagelsmann as a replacement to Jose Mourinho if he is unable to turn his team’s form around. Tottenham’s dismal Premier League run continued at the weekend with a 2-1 loss to West Ham United.
Tottenham have lost five of their last six Premier League games. They now sit nine points off fourth place and face a critical 12 days to turn their season around. Nagelsmann, who is currently RB Leipzig manager, is at the top of a list of targets should Mourinho be sacked.

Mourinho Still Backed by Levy
Club chairman Daniel Levy is said to still be in support of Mourinho but is heavily concerned with the recent run of poor performances. Tottenham’s next 12 days include games against Wolfsberger in the Europa League and then Burnley, Fulham and Crystal Palace in the Premier League. This is seen as great opportunity to turn the tide at the club and propel the team up the table.
Tottenham have a great chance to go deep into the Europa League which promises qualification to the Champions League for the winner. They are 4-1 up to Wolsfberger after the first leg and Wednesday’s game could provide a welcome relief from the demanding nature of the Premier League. Spurs still have a League Cup final to look forward to as well, but it is understood that even if Mourinho secures Spurs’ first major trophy since 2008, his job would still not be entirely safe.
There is also a demand to start Gareth Bale after his best performance since returning to Spurs against West Ham. If Mourinho can inspire his team to return to the form they showed earlier in the season they will start to pick up wins again.
Nagelsmann an Exciting Young Coach
When Nagelsmann’s Leipzig beat Mourinho’s Tottenham 4-0 on aggregate last season, he became the youngest manager ever to win a Champions League knockout tie at just 32. Nagelsmann is widely regarded as the most exciting young coach in world football. After guiding a young Leipzig team to the Champions League semi-finals in his first season, he has continued to impress. Although they are 2-0 down after their last 16 first leg against Liverpool, Leipzig currently sit second in the Bundesliga. They sit just two points behind Bayern Munich and have a great chance of silverware.
It is thought that the German would be open to a move to the Premier League, but would only consider moving in the summer. This gives Mourinho an opportunity to turn things around at Spurs but he must do so quickly. These next 12 days will be crucial in deciding his fate.
