Brighton & Hove Albion claimed a stunning 2-1 win away at Chelsea in the pick of the Women’s Super League results this weekend, as the Blues’ record-breaking unbeaten run in the league ended at 33 games.

Chelsea’s Record Women’s Super League Unbeaten Run Ends
Sam Kerr broke the deadlock for the reigning Women’s Super League champions in the fifth minute, but Aileen Whelan levelled the scores just three minutes later.
Megan Connolly then scored straight from a corner late on to secure an incredible victory and inflict a first league defeat on Chelsea since January 27 2019 – 3-2 against Birmingham City 742 days previously.
The Blues remain top of the table despite the result with 32 points from 13 games and remain above second-place Manchester United on goal difference.
Reading Stun Manchester United in the Women’s Super League
Reading pulled off the first big shock of the day with a 2-0 win away at Manchester United.
Two goals in the space of three second-half minutes from Natasha Harding and Danielle Carter secured a memorable win over United, who saw Leah Galton and Ona Batlle denied by Grace Mahoney in the Royals’ goal, while Ella Toone’s shot hit the post.
The result means Casey’s Stoney’s side remain second and two points above Manchester City in third having played a game more.
Manchester City Overcome Arsenal
Manchester City boosted their title aspirations with a 2-1 win against Arsenal at Meadow Park – a result which takes them to within two points of league leaders Chelsea.
Ellen White’s fantastic strike put City ahead in the 24th minute – her 55th Women’s Super League strike to move her to the top of the all-time top scorer list in the division.
But the Gunners equalised in the 55th minute courtesy of Caitlin’s Foord’s cool left-footed strike from inside the box.
It was City that scored the second and ultimately decisive goal with 79 minutes played after Chloe Kelly brilliantly teed up Lauren Hemp to guide home her header.
Bristol City and West Ham United Draw in Bottom-of-the-Table Clash
Bristol City were denied a third straight win in all competitions after drawing 1-1 with West Ham United at the Chigwell Construction Stadium.
Emily van Egmond’s own goal gave City the lead in the seventh minute after Hammers keeper Mackenzie Arnold misjudged an incoming corner and her teammate diverted the ball into the net.
Katerina Svitkova equalised four minutes into the second half with a close-range strike to ensure the points were shared.
City remain bottom of the table with six points from 13 games, while West Ham are 11th with eight points from 12 games.
Everton Share the Spoils With Birmingham City
It was honours even at Walton Hall Park as Everton and Birmingham City took a point each in a 1-1 draw.
Danielle Turney broke the deadlock in the Toffees’ favour with a fine free-kick in the 24th minute, but her strike was cancelled out 12 minutes later thanks to Jamie-Lee Napier.
Claudia Walker saw her initial penalty saved by Tinka-Rijkka Korpela before Napier followed up on the rebound.
Aston Villa Edge Out Tottenham Hotspur
Mana Iwabuchi’s superb long-range strike earned Aston Villa their first home Women’s Super League victory of the season.
Cho So-hyun had a golden opportunity to level the score deep into stoppage time, but her left-footed effort went over the bar.
Villa sit ninth in the table with 10 points from 12 games, while Tottenham are seventh with 12 points from 12 games.
