Lincoln City have confirmed that they have signed Max Sanders from Brighton & Hove Albion on a permanent deal.
The midfielder has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Imps.
Max Sanders Signs for Lincoln City
Midfield Recruit
Sanders, who was highly-rated by the Seagulls, joins the Imps to add further depth to their midfield. Lincoln were looking to strengthen in the centre of midfield following the departure of Robbie Gotts.
The 22-year-old is familiar with League One, having enjoyed a successful loan spell with AFC Wimbledon last season. He made 22 appearances during his time with the Wombles, scoring just the once. However, it was his calmness on the ball that impressed those at Kingsmeadow.
As a result, Sanders was looking to push for a first-team spot at the Amex Stadium this season. Despite making three appearances in the EFL Cup against Portsmouth, Preston North End and Manchester United, he could not force his way into Graham Potter’s plans on a permanent basis.
What Was Said?
Speaking about his move to the official Lincoln City website, the midfielder said: “I am happy to have joined a big club like Lincoln who are on the up, I can’t wait to get going.
“From watching the side this season, the manager plays a style I like. It is a good fit for me and the supporters create a really good atmosphere, that is something I’m looking forward to experiencing.”
Imps boss Michael Appleton added: “Max is a player who has been at a Premier League club with a similar style to ours.
“He has a very good range of passing, and reads the game very well, we are pleased to welcome him to the club.”
The 22-year-old is the second player to join the Imps on deadline day, following the completion of Cohen Bramall’s move.
