Fleetwood Town Sign Midfielder Daniel Batty on a Permanent Deal From Hull City

Hull City midfielder Daniel Batty has joined Fleetwood Town on a permanent deal.

The midfielder arrives for an undisclosed fee and is the first since Simon Grayson was appointed the club’s new manager.

Batty has a wealth of experience and is the third new face to join Fleetwood in this transfer window.

Batty Has Played Just Six League Games This Season

The midfielder joins after spending the past five seasons at Hull City. He was a regular performer in the Championship, making over 50 appearances in their last three seasons.

However, he has dropped down the pecking order this season in League One. Batty has only played six times, starting twice, something which understandably has frustrated the player. In total, Batty has played just 154 minutes of league football this campaign.

Changes at Fleetwood

He exits Hull for a new challenge at Fleetwood. Its all change at Highbury with Simon Grayson appointed manager and David Dunn confirmed as his assistant manager earlier today. He is joining a Fleetwood side underperforming in League One.

Quietly tipped to sneak into the play-offs, things just haven’t materialised for the Cod Army this season. They are winless in eight and have won just one of their last twelve.

The experienced midfielder at 22, still has his best years ahead. He has clocked a lorry load of appearances and could the steely midfielder Fleetwood have lacked this season. As well as providing defensive cover, he can start attacks with his excellent passing range and has an eye for goal.

The midfielder could make his debut against Bristol Rovers this weekend. A great game for Fleetwood to find some form and give Simon Grayson a winning start. If their promotion ambitions are still alive, then they must beat the struggling Gas.
