Tobin Heath Has Been a key Component
The USA international hasn’t featured since scoring twice in a 6-1 win over Bristol City – part of an impressive start to life in England for the two-time World Cup winner.
She has four goals and two assists to her name in eight Women’s Super League appearances and been a key component in the Red Devils’ title challenge so far this campaign.
Heath arrived at Manchester United as arguably one of their two stand-out signings in September 2020, along with international teammate, Christen Press.
The injury also sees Heath ruled out of the annual SheBelieves Cup, which takes place between February 18 and February 24.
Manchester United Forward Tobin Heath a ‘Big Loss’
Speaking as the news was announced, Stoney said: “She is a big loss for us and it’s disappointing for her.
“It’s part of the game. As with all injuries, I always say it’s a window of opportunity for somebody else.
“We will work hard to get her back as safe and as quickly as possible.”
On sidelines With Martha Harris
Heath has been added to an injury list that also includes Martha Harris after the defender injured her rib in last Sunday’s 2-0 win over Birmingham City.
United are next in action away at Everton on Sunday and currently sit second in the Women’s Super League table with 29 points from 12 games, and sit below leaders Chelsea on goal difference having also played a game more than Emma Hayes’s side.
The Red Devils have lost just once so far this season and have won four of their last Women’s Super League games, ensuring they remain firmly in the mix to challenge for the title.
