Max Kruse was the key man as Union Berlin saw off Hoffenheim on the road in the Bundesliga. The summer signing scored once and added two assists as Die Eisernen extended their unbeaten run in thee top flight with a 3-1 win.

Experienced Striker the Key Man For Union
Union Berlin are in a great run of form but Max Kruse stole the show as Urs Fischer’s side eased past Hoffenheim on the road.
Die Eisernen headed into the game off the back of successive 1-1 draws but secured their first away win of the season with a terrific performance at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena.
Kruse was instrumental throughout. He netted the opener 15 minutes into the second half from the spot after Robert Skov conceded a penalty, and was dismissed as a result.
Although Mu’nas Dabbur levelled proceedings with ten minutes remaining, Kruse laid on assists for substitutes Joel Pohjanpalo and Cedric Teuchert to seal the win.
The goal was the second of the season for Kruse and a third assist for the former Werder Bremen and Wolfsburg striker.
A Good Run for Union
Last season, Union Berlin were tipped for relegation as they headed into their first-ever Bundesliga season. However, Fischer’s side deservedly secured their top-flight status for a second season.
Union started the season with a defeat at home against Augsburg. A draw at Monchengladbach was followed up by back to back wins over Mainz and Hannover (in a friendly) before successive 1-1 draws against Schalke and Freiburg respectively.
The result against Hoffenheim will be a major boost for Union who sit eighth in the Bundesliga after six games and a struggling Arminia Bielefeld next time out.
