Tottenham Hotspur striker Kazaiah Sterling has joined Southend United on loan until January.
The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Doncaster Rovers but saw it cut short due to injury. He then joined Leyton Orient in January for the rest of the campaign.

Opportunity for Development
Sterling joins the Blues for the first half of the 2020/21 season desperate for game time following two unsuccessful loan spells over the past year.
His first loan last season was heavily disrupted as a suspected dead leg forced the 21-year-old to return to his parent club for treatment. Sterling completed a move to Leyton Orient during the January transfer window, but his stay was short-lived again due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Sterling has made two appearances for Spurs’ senior team but has spent most of his career in the U23s. In that time, Sterling has developed a prolific goal scoring record in the youth team. He has also been capped for England at U17 and U18 level.
The move can potentially be a savvy addition for Southend, who are winless in their opening four games. The Blues sit second from bottom with one point from a possible 12.
What Was Said?
Speaking to the club’s website, manager Mark Molesley said: “Being in and around Tottenham’s under 23s, he’s had a couple of loan moves already. He’s very highly recommended by our scouting department.
“He comes with good character references. He’s had a fantastic footballing education at Tottenham and he’s a player to be very excited about.
“The fact that Tottenham have trusted us to improve one of their players is great. I’m sure he’s going to bring a lot of value, so were delighted to welcome him to the football club.
When asked about whether Sterling’s style of play, Molesley added: “He’s very quick, aggressive, predominantly plays up front but can also play wide. He definitely gives us another option.
“I’m thankful to Tottenham for loaning one of their top talents to us and also the Chairman for allowing us to get this deal over the line.”
Sterling has been allocated the number 17 shirt and is eligible to make his debut on Saturday against Exeter City.
