Brentford are set to complete the signing of Amiens forward Saman Ghoddos, according to Sky Sports’ Lyall Thomas. The 27-year-old is set to strengthen Brentford’s front line, with Said Benrahma’s future at the club still unclear. Despite having two years left on his contract, it seems inevitable that Ghoddos will no longer be an Amiens player when the transfer window shuts.
The Swedish-born Iranian was part of an Amiens side that was relegated from Ligue 1 last season and is set to leave and join the West London club very soon. Ghoddos only managed five appearances in an injury-hit campaign with the French side, but when available he impressed with a goal and three assists.

The Bees Prepare a Second Attempt for Ghoddos
Brentford have been monitoring Ghoddos for a while now and they may finally land their man. The Bees tried signing Ghoddos ahead of the 2019/20 campaign but were unsuccessful in their chase.
However, it now seems that Amiens are in a position where selling the Iranian international is necessary. Ghoddos was not involved in their opening fixture against Paris FC last weekend, which indicates a move could be imminent.
Is it the End of the Road for Said Benrahma?
Brentford’s impressive 2019/20 campaign has brought upon significant speculation around some of their stars. Ollie Watkins has already departed the club, with Aston Villa paying a £33 million fee for his services. Full-back Rico Henry and goalkeeper David Raya have also attracted the interest of a number of Premier League clubs.
A player that particularly lit up the Championship last season was winger Said Benrahma. His excellent year with the Bees has also led to Premier League speculation. Brentford reportedly want upwards of £25 million for Benrahma but remain adamant that Ghoddos is not just a replacement.
