Jordan Moore-Taylor: Forest Green Rovers Sign Defender Following MK Dons Release

Forest Green Rovers have continued their busy summer with the capture of former MK Dons defender Jordan Moore-Taylor. The Exeter-born man was released by the Dons last month after two seasons with the club and he has become Rovers’ eighth addition of the summer, signing a two-year contract.

Busy Window Continues

Rovers boss Mark Cooper guided his side to a tenth-place finish in the curtailed League Two season in 2019/20. Given the incomings at the club in the last few weeks, it seems he is intent on improving on this finish and going for a promotion spot.

Moore-Taylor won promotion from League Two with MK Dons in 2018/19 and also has vast experience of the league from his time captaining Exeter City. He featured sparingly in League One last season under both Paul Tisdale and Russell Martin, but his campaign was hampered by injury problems, which ultimately led to his departure from Milton Keynes.

The 26-year-old will bring solidity to Forest Green’s backline, and the fact he is left-footed also gives a good balance to the side’s defence.

What Was Said?

Speaking to the club website about the move, Moore-Taylor said: “I had a few options, but Mark Cooper made it clear how much he wanted me, and I’ve always liked the way his side play. I’m delighted to sign and can’t wait to get going.”

Director of football Richard Hughes added: “Jordan is a good fit for the football club and one we’ve tracked for a long time and he was number one on our list – we’re delighted to get him over the line.”
