Tottenham Hotspur youngster Oliver Skipp has signed a new four-year deal with the club. The 19-year-old has made 21 appearances for Spurs since his professional debut in the Carabao Cup win against West Ham United in 2018. This new deal will allow Skipp to continue to push for a regular place in Jose Mourinho’s starting 11.

Oliver Skipp Feels the Faith From Manager
Despite being only 19-years-old, Skipp has been in and around the first-team at Spurs for coming up to two years. He has not made a huge number of appearances in that time, but his presence in the side for that long shows that the managers he has played under have trust in him.
That trust is something that he feels from Jose Mourinho and it was part of the reason he was delighted to sign a new deal.
Speaking to the club website, he said: “I’ve been at the club since I was very young and it’s nice to extend my contract here. I think it shows that the club and the manager has faith in me and it’s something that hopefully I can now push on from and see what the future holds.”
Excited to Learn Under Mourinho
Young players will relish playing under a manager like Mourinho, who has achieved so much in the game.
Skipp is no different, and he is keen to continue his development under the Portuguese coach.
He said: “You see what he’s done in the game – Champions League wins, Premier League wins – so as a young player it’s only something you can learn off and develop your understanding of the game due to his tactical knowledge. Working under Jose can only be good for me, just to develop all sides of my game.”
