REPORT: Tanguy Ndombele Wants to Leave Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has his eyes set on a move away from the club. ESPN have reported that he had a bust-up with boss José Mourinho, and told him afterwards, he’d never play for the club again.

Club Record Signing

The Frenchman joined from Lyon last summer for a club-record fee of £55 million. But despite an impressive debut in which he scored to help Spurs defeat Aston Villa, he hasn’t lived up to the expectations many fans would have hoped for.

His and the clubs’ poor start to the season resulted in the sacking of Argentine boss Mauricio Pochettino, who was replaced of course by Mourinho.

Ndombele Has Faced Plenty of Criticism Since Mourinho’s Appointment

Mourinho has been critical of the midfielder since his arrival. This was evident in their 1-1 draw at Burnley back in March when he stated he couldn’t keep giving Ndombele opportunities to play.

Ndombele was hoping he could prove his Portuguese manager wrong. He breached government guidelines by attending a training session held by Mourinho, which the 57-year-old took responsibility for.

But Ndombele has not featured since the League season resumed. He was left on the bench in the draw with Manchester United, and the victory over West Ham United on Tuesday.

It has been rumoured there is no resolution between the pair at this present time. Ndombele’s preferred option currently is a move away from Spurs.

Spurs, no doubt, will be hoping this problem can be solved. They are currently in the hunt for a place in next season’s Champions League, continuing with Sheffield United next week.

Their remaining six games after their visit to Bramall Lane includes the North London Derby against Arsenal, a trip to Newcastle United and then the visit of Leicester City on the penultimate weekend of the season.
