Manchester United are ready to put huge money into their transfer budget despite the financial implications of the Coronavirus. This comes according to Christian Falk, as he reveals that the Red Devils are prepared to spend €300 million on transfers in the future
Manchester United Ready To Put Huge Money Into Transfer Budget
Previous Successful Transfers Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has undoubtedly been the most successful post Sir Alex Ferguson manager in the transfer market.
The Norwegian has so far made four permanent signings, and one on loan. All of these have turned out excellently, providing quality in a weak area of United’s game.
His first signing, Daniel James, moved to Manchester a year ago today. The Welshman signed at Old Trafford with the view of being a future first-team player, but has risen to the challenge of Premier League football superbly. James is now a regular starter, and looks to have a fantastic future ahead of him.
Then, in late June 2019, United confirmed the addition of Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The right-back has perfectly filled a position that has not had a first-class occupant since Gary Neville many years ago. Now, the Englishman is arguably the best right-back in England, and has lots of potential at just 22-years-of-age.
United’s last signing of last summer was Harry Maguire, a record-breaking centre-back. He has provided United with stability in the middle of their defence and has developed a great partnership with Victor Lindelof.
Then, in January, Solskjaer made his most important signing yet. Bruno Fernandes joined late in the month, and has not failed to disappoint. Since his debut, the Red Devils have not lost a match, and his impact doesn’t stop there. The Portuguese playmaker has also influenced teammates, getting such players as Luke Shaw out of slumps of bad form.
Finally, in what seemed to be a rushed deadline day panic-move, the Norwegian brought in Odion Ighalo on loan. A dream move for the Nigerian, he has proven his doubters wrong. Ighalo was in fine goal-scoring form before the suspension of football, earning himself an extension of his loan, now committed to the club until January 2021.
Christian Falk’s Comments on United’s Transfer Budget
In an interview with UtdReport, Falk gave his insight on, among other things, the matter of money at the Theatre of Dreams.
“I have heard from my sources that United’s management is ready to invest 300 million euros to build a new team. This is also a sign to players like [Jadon] Sancho that a big team is ready to be built up at United – there is a huge incentive.
“United weren’t convincing enough for Timo Werner’s poker. The next player will be moved on more aggressively.
”The 300 million euros can also be spent during this summer – if the needed players are on the market, and if they can sell some players.”
