Released

The Gills will see Mark Byrne, Ousseynou Cissé and Ben Pringle all leave the club. 31-year-old midfielder Byrne, who has made 23 appearances this season, has been invited by manager Steve Evans for “pre-season training with the opportunity to prove his match fitness levels and earn a contract.”

29-year-old defensive midfielder Cissé and 30-year-old left midfielder Pringle have made just 16 appearances between them.

Out of Contract Players

There are a further five players out of contract in the summer that are yet to be offered new deals. Notably, captain Max Ehmer is one of them. The 28-year-old centre back has been ever-present for the Gills, making 39 appearances. Striker Mikael Mandron, who has scored six goals from 28 appearances is also out of contract.

The club confirmed they will make a final decision regarding any proposed contract offer following a board meeting on June 19 or the date that the commencement of the 20/21 season is formally announced by the EFL.

Meanwhile, Brandon Hanlan, Regan Charles-Cook and Henry Woods are also out of contract. However, in the event that either of these three decided to leave the club, the Gills would reserve the right with compensation payments.

The three youngsters have scored ten goals between them this season from 62 appearances combined.

Players Contracted for Next Season

There are nine players that have an extra year on their contract. 35-year-old right-back Barry Fuller, who activated his option of a further year with the Gills, has been told he is free to find a new club should he decide to do so.

Meanwhile, Lee Hodson has been given permission to continue his discussions regarding a permanent move to SPL Premier team St. Mirren, plus one other EFL opponent, the club confirmed.

Jack Bonham, Joe Walsh, Connor Ogilvie, Jack Tucker, Stuart O’Keefe, Matty Willock and John Akinde all have a contract that expires next summer.
