Salford City Announce Released and Retained List

Announcement Follows the Decision to End the League Two Season

The announcement follows the decision to bring the 2019/20 League Two season to an abrupt end due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Graham Alexander’s side sat in 10th place in League Two before the season was suspended in March. They won four of their previous five games, meaning they sat just outside of the play-off places.

However, now the season has been brought to an end, the Ammies can now start planning for next season.

Who Have Salford City Released?

Salford have made the decision to release ten players this summer.

Both former Manchester United midfielder Darron Gibson and January transfer window arrival Michael O’Connor have been allowed to leave. The pair had joined on six-month deals earlier this year, with a view to extend their deals beyond the end of the season.

The goalkeeping duo of Chris Neal and Kyle Letheren will also depart. The latter has made more appearances this season, but responsibilities in between the sticks have been shared this season.

Defenders Scott Wiseman and Nathan Pond have also been released.
