Manchester United are prepared to sell Paul Pogba for £100 million, according to Neil Custis of The Sun.
Manchester United Prepared to Sell Paul Pogba
Pogba Wants Out
With Pogba having shown for some time that he wants to leave Old Trafford, it looks that this summer his wish may finally come true. United are now reportedly willing to let the Frenchman go for £100 million, a huge discount on what they were asking for last summer when they put a £180 million price tag on his head. That pushed away many potential buyers, and the new price is much more attractive.
Recent reports have suggested that Pogba may now be willing to devote his future to the Manchester side. The 27-year-old could even sign a new contract, and this dramatic U-turn has come following the arrival of Bruno Fernandes. United’s newest signing has joined and immediately had an impact at the club. They have not lost a game since his debut, and he has also seemingly helped players out of bad form. Another effect of his maybe persuading Pogba to stay.
Despite this, there is still much uncertainty over his future, and nothing is confirmed. Pogba’s contract expires in 2021, and United have the option to extend this for an extra year, which they may use to stop his value decreasing.
Who is Interested?
Many clubs have shown interest in Paul Pogba since he re-joined Manchester United in 2016. Juventus reportedly want him to return to them after selling him for a then world-record fee.
Barcelona could also be interested, however, they are trying to raise funds to bring back Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain, so a £100 million swoop for the Frenchman will not be at the top of their list.
Real Madrid have been the frontrunners in the race for Pogba’s signature for most of its duration, and they will look to sign him for United’s discounted £100 million this summer.
