REPORT: Manchester United Make Last Ditch Attempt for Jude Bellingham

Jude Bellingham

Jude Bellingham has been the target of many top European clubs for a summer transfer. The youngster was being targeted by Chelsea, Manchester United, Borrusia Dortmund, and Bayern Munich. In the past couple of weeks, it was revealed that Bellingham’s top two options were Manchester United and Dortmund. However, it seemed that Dortmund would just get the edge over United to sign Bellingham. Many supporters assumed this was because of Dortmund’s great commitment to youth.

However, Ed Woodward refused to give up on Bellingham, as he as been identified as a primary target. Woodward gave the England youth international a private tour of the inner workings of the Red Devils at the training complex and stadium, despite restrictions caused by Covid-19. Club legend Sir Alex Ferguson was even brought in to convince him.

Another factor contributing to Bellingham’s possible move to Manchester is his family. His family was hoping that Jude would sign for an English team so they wouldn’t have to relocate.

After all this, it seemed that United’s attempts were futile and that Bellingham would be snatched away by Dortmund. Now, the Red Devils are pulling out all their tricks, and have offered Jude Bellingham a massive deal to try and sway him.

United are willing to spend £30million to sign Bellingham, according to the Daily Mirror. He turns 17 on June 29th, which is the minimum age to sign a professional contract. This birthday will come in time for the summer transfer window where he can be offered deals worth up to £100,000 a week. This would make him one of the highest-paid teenagers in football. Currently, he only earns a rumoured £150-a-week, so this offer will be very tempting (The Sun).

Jude Bellingham’s future is still up in the air, but it seems Manchester United will stop at nothing to sign him. This itself should help to convince the 16-year-old because he will obviously be highly valued in Manchester.
