Experienced Striker

The Canadian striker is well-travelled, having played for 14 clubs in his 16-year playing career.

He joins Stevenage from Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock, whom he spent the first half of the 2019-20 season with. However, he made just four appearances for the club before his contract expired in December 2019.

Jackson began his career with the now-defunct Rushden & Diamonds, before joining Gillingham in 2008. In three seasons with the Gills, Jackson registered 38 goals.

A move to Norwich City followed Gillingham, where the now 32-year-old continued his goalscoring form, scoring 13 in his first season at Carrow Road.

The Canadian international then had a brief spell in Germany, joining Eintracht Braunschweig, before return to England in a short-term role at Millwall.

Since leaving The New Den, Jackson has had short-term spells at several clubs, including Coventry City, Barnsley, Walsall and Grimsby Town.

Second Striker of the Window

The signing of Simeon Jackson is the second arrival of a striker at Broadhall Way this window.

Graham Westley signed Welshman Jake Cassidy from National League side Maidenhead United.

The 26-year-old had only joined Maidenhead last summer and scored five times during the first half of the season.

Furthermore, Westley has also opted to extend the loan of veteran striker Craig Mackail-Smith until the end of the season. Mackail-Smith is yet to register a goal for Stevenage this season, despite making 15 appearances.

Stevenage currently sit in 23rd place, level on points with bottom side Morecambe on 22 points.

However, they will be hoping to have gained confidence from their 4-0 thrashing of Cambridge United last time out.

Graham Westley’s side face Exeter City in their next game, before hosting Plymouth Argyle.
