Career So Far

Cisse started his career with Amiens in France, having also spent time in the youth academy at French giants Paris Saint-Germain. He then had a successful spell at Dijon, where he scored five goals in 93 games from defensive midfield.

He then went on to have spells in Spain and Belgium with Rayo Vallecano and Waasland-Beveren respectively before returning to France with Tours.

Cisse’s first taste of English football came when he was signed by MK Dons in 2017. He had a fairly unsuccessful start to his career with the Dons and was part of the side that was relegated to League Two at the end of the 2017/18 season.

However, he was much improved in the next campaign and played a big part in the Dons earning direct promotion back to the third tier.

Despite this, he was not kept on by Paul Tisdale and was released at the end of last season before being signed by Gillingham.

What Was Said

Speaking to the Leyton Orient website, head coach Ross Embleton said: “The signing of Ousseynou is one that we are very pleased about. We have taken our time in the last two weeks since the window opened, to make sure that we really look at the right type of characters and the right type of players to fit in with what we want.

“He hasn’t played the amount of football this season that he would have liked, but that’s often what happens with the signings that you make in January. It’s great that we can give him an opportunity and a platform to come in and perform. We’re really pleased to have him ready and available for the weekend.”
