Crystal Palace have confirmed that both James Tomkins and Christian Benteke have extended their contracts with the club. It will see them remain at Selhurst Park until the 2021/22 and 2020/21 seasons retrospectively.

Speaking to the official club website, Tomkins said: “I’m now in my fourth season and I’ve really enjoyed my time at Palace.
“I’m excited about the future here and didn’t hesitate to commit myself to the club for an additional two years.”
The 30-year-old also added: “It’s been great to be part of this team and to have the support of the chairman, manager and staff.”
Meanwhile, Christian Benteke said: “I am very happy to have reached an agreement to extend my contract with Palace for another year.”
Crystal Palace chairman, Steve Parish, expressed his delight at the extension, and pointed out both players experience in the Premier League. He said: “Both James and Christian bring vast Premier League experience, commitment and professionalism to the squad. These new deals show that we recognise their levels of performance in recent seasons, that we believe in both players, and that they are hugely motivated by the direction the club is heading in.”
Crystal Palace Careers So Far
Tomkins is now into his fourth season at Selhurst Park, having joined the club in the summer of 2016. He has gone onto make 87 appearances for the club, scoring seven times. Last season saw the 30-year-old form a formidable partnership with Mamadou Sakho at the heart of defence.
Christian Benteke also made the move to Crystal Palace in the summer of 2016 for a club-record fee. He has made 98 appearances for the club, scoring 21 times. However, 17 of those came during his first season at Selhurst Park. As a result, he has seen his place in the starting lineup taken by Jordan Ayew.
