Leyton Orient return to Carabao Cup action, for the first time in three years. The O’s travel to Home Park, to play Plymouth Argyle. While expectations for the competition will not be a huge priority, it would be ideal for Orient to get back on track with their form.

Plymouth Argyle: Early pace setters
So far this season, Plymouth Argyle have won two of their opening games this season. Starting off with a 3-0 win over Crewe Alexandra, they then went on to beat Colchester United 1-0 on Saturday.
Ryan Lowe’s side currently sit top of League Two, and while the season is young, the Pilgrims chances of staying up there this season look very good on paper. Thus, there is no doubt Leyton Orient will have their work cut out for them.
Despite this not being a league game, Argyle will want to maintain their 100% record in all competitions, so Ross Embleton’s side will really be coming up against it.
Leyton Orient looking to get back on track
After their 3-0 loss to Macclesfield Town on Saturday, Orient will be looking to get back on track.
Far from an ideal performance, their first-round Carabao Cup tie against Plymouth Argyle might the answer for O’s regaining their confidence again. They have a tough season ahead, but winning games where they can will do them the world of good.
While the O’s won’t be favourites heading into the tie, they are very capable of pulling off a result, which would definitely give them something to kick on with.
Prediction
As aforementioned, Plymouth are the pacesetters in League Two, winning two out of two, and yet to concede a goal this season. On the contrary, Orient are looking to bounce back from a 3-0 defeat to Macclesfield Town.
A win in any competition at any time of the season will do, however for Orient, they are looking at a difficult tie against a very organised Ryan Lowe side.
Going out of the competition won’t be the end of the world for Orient, so it is safe to say Plymouth Argyle will come away with a 2-0 victory.
