According to Matt Law of The Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur are nearing their third signing of the summer. A deal to bring Fulham youngster Ryan Sessegnon to the club is reportedly close to completion.

Tottenham Close To Signing Ryan Sessegnon

Long-Term Admirers

Tottenham and manager Mauricio Pochettino have been long-term admirers of the 19-year-old. They have been tracking his progress as he has developed at Fulham and previously showed interest during 2018, Matt Law of The Telegraph claims.

However, now would be the perfect to make their move for the youngster. He has just one year left on his deal at Craven Cottage. As a result, it is likely that he will cost less than the previous £50 million touted for him.

Furthermore, following Fulham’s relegation to the Championship, it is unlikely that he wants to spend another season playing second-tier football. According to David Hytner of The Guardian, he does not want to extend his stay past the end of his current contract. Tottenham would offer him the chance of Premier League football and a fresh start.

Ryan Sessegnon – Last Season

After setting the Championship alight, it can be argued that Sessegnon failed to live up to the high standards. He scored just two goals and registered six assists as Fulham were relegated from the top flight.

As a result, it could prove a risky signing for Mauricio Pochettino. However, with his best years still ahead of him, the 19-year-old can be considered one for the future.

Tottenham Duo to Head to Fulham?

According to the Law’s report, Fulham are also presenting an interest in Tottenham duo Josh Onomah and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou.

Onomah spent last season on loan at Championship side Sheffield Wednesday. However, he failed to impress, registering just three assists.

Despite signing in 2016, Georges-Kevin Nkoudou has failed to make a breakthrough at Tottenham. He spent the second half of the 2018/19 season on loan at Monaco.
