Phil Jagielka Returns to the Lane
Twelve years to the day after leaving Sheffield United for Everton, former England defender Phil Jagielka is back at Bramall Lane after signing on a free transfer.
Jagielka was part of the Blades squad that was relegated from the Premier League in 2006/07, but has since gone on to have an excellent career with the Toffees and was once a key part of England’s national team set-up.
The 36-year-old has signed a one-year deal with Chris Wilder’s side as they prepare for their return to the top flight. He becomes their second signing of the window after they broke their transfer record to sign Queens Park Rangers midfielder Luke Freeman.
