Welcome back to another edition of Football Transfer News. This piece looks at the latest transfer rumours concerning Chelsea, Spurs, Huddersfield and Arsenal.
Latest on Callum Hudson-Odoi, Eriksen, Puncheon and Navas
A Third Bid For Hudson-Odoi
This one looks like it will drag on for a little one longer. Chelsea have rejected a third bid from Bayern Munich, rumoured to be in excess of £30 million. They have previously rejected two bids for their English winger and are holding out for a £40 million transfer fee. Chelsea are desperate to keep him and have offered him a contract extension. However, Sky have reported that he is refusing to sign it and wants a transfer away from Chelsea.
The 18-year-old winger has made just the one competitive appearances so far this season. He started and scored in Chelsea’s 4-0 Europa League win over PAOK. He also played a part in England U17’s World Cup win in 2017.
Eriksen Looking For a Transfer Away?
Christian Eriksen is reportedly stalling on a new contract at Spurs. The Danish midfielder is currently in fantastic form with four goals and seven assists so far this season. Eriksen has just 18 months left on his contract, so if he keeps stalling Spurs may be forced to listen to offers. It would put a number of Europe’s high-profile clubs on alert.
Puncheon to Huddersfield?
Crystal Palace midfielder Jason Puncheon is reportedly close to a loan move to Premier League rivals Huddersfield. He has found opportunities hard to come by at Selhurst Park since his return from injury. So far this season he has made five substitute appearances, totalling eight minutes. A move away from Selhurst Park may prove necessary for the midfielder.
Huddersfield may be looking for creative reinforcements. They have had difficulty in front of goal, with just 13 goals so far this season.
Arsenal on the Move For Another Goalkeeper?
Arsenal have reportedly made a £14 million bid for Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas. The 32-year-old has fallen out of favour at the Spanish club as Thibaut Courtois has taken the number one spot. The Costa Rican may be looking for a transfer away. Bernd Leno has looked unimpressive so far in his first campaign at The Emirates.
However, Unai Emery has denied the rumours, saying that they are “not true”.
