This weekend is the final set of Football League fixtures. The EFL trapdoor is still wide open, with Barnet and Morecambe staring down it at the bottom of League Two. Last weekend, Barnet visited the Globe Arena as they played their relegation rivals. Martin Allen’s side needed a win to ensure that they could take their Football League survival battle to the final weekend.
A 79th-minute volley from Alex Nicholls saw Barnet take all three points back to London, as well their EFL status remaining intact.
That win extended Barnet’s unbeaten run to four games, three of which were wins. On the other hand, Morecambe haven’t recorded a league victory since the 17th of March.

Barnet will host already-relegated Chesterfield at The Hive on Saturday. Since Martin Allen returned for his fourth spell in charge of the club, the Bees’ form has taken a massive upturn, resulting in survival fight going to the final day.
On the other hand, their opposition in Chesterfield are already condemned to relegation to the National League following an abysmal season. On paper, the Spireites are ideal opposition for the Bees.
Following their vital win at Morecambe, Barnet will be riding a wave of momentum. Meanwhile, Bees fans will be keeping one eye on their phones regarding the action unfolding at The Ricoh Arena.

As for Morecambe, they will be travelling to the Midlands to play Coventry City, who are hoping to secure a League Two play-off spot.
Being winless in over a month has taken its toll on the side, and they now find themselves with an uncertain future in the Football League.
The Shrimps’ Football League status is theirs to lose, regardless of Barnet’s result. A point would see Morecambe safe.
