Muzambo has frequently played for Ajax’s under-18 and under-21 teams since joining them, even managing 30 goal contributions (13 goals, 17 assists) in 33 appearances for the U18 team. The teenager has scored three goals in 11 appearances for the Dutch heavyweights’ U21 side this season. On top of all of this, he has also represented for Belgium at various youth levels and scored two goals in 11 caps for their under-17 team too. His contract with Ajax expires in June 2024, which is why there is a lot of speculation over his future.

Tottenham To Face Competition For Muzambo Transfer

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Tottenham are set to “present proposals” to sign the Belgian youngster in the upcoming January transfer window from the Eredivisie side. However, Sevilla are also ready to compete with them and produce their own proposal to sign the midfielder in the coming month.

Romano adds that Muzambo has already decided to turn down a contract extension offer from Ajax and does not want to stay at the club for the long term. The journalist also adds that there is an agreement between the two parties for him to be sold for a profit in January or else leave as a free agent after his contract expires next summer.

Tottenham are likely looking at Muzambo to improve their squad for the future and someone to be inserted into their youth structure. Spurs are also reported to be looking for a new centre-back in January to strengthen their backline, so it remains to be seen if they can get both deals done in the window.
