Interest In Sergio Reguilon
Thomas mentions that the Red Devils were “looking” at the Spanish left-back, who reportedly earns 48k per week at Spurs. He is an option for the Manchester outfit to sign, along with other unspecified defenders who Erik ten Hag’s club have begun to consider as a possible replacement for Shaw.
Thomas also mentions that Fulham are interested in the Spaniard but noted that the Cottagers prefer Leicester City defender Timothy Castagne. The 26-year-old Reguilon “can leave Tottenham before the deadline.”

When the then 23-year-old was still at The Santiago Bernabéu, and it was known that there was an impending exit, the Red Devils were one of the teams rumoured to be offering him a fresh start. French coach Zinedine Zidane preferred other left-backs to Reguilon, but a move to Tottenham was secured despite the interest from United.

Manchester United’s Injuries and Transfers
Ten Hag’s squad have been rocked by more than just the Shaw injury. Star centre-back Raphael Varane went off at half-time during their come-from-behind victory over Nottingham Forest. The Dutchman insists that the French defender’s injury is nothing to worry about, but the addition of Reguilon would be well-timed.

The clubs biggest signing this year has been that of Danish attacker Rasmus Hojlund. Bought from Serie A outfit Atalanta, at 20-years-old he promises to be a future star if he continues to develop. Mason Mount and Andre Onana are two other deals that United have completed this summer.
