Romano states that the United officials presented their final verbal offer to Inter for the signing of Onana, which was around £47 million including add-ons. The two clubs are now in the process of agreeing on the structure of the add-ons that will be paid later on and once that gets over the line, a deal should be confirmed soon after.

It’s also stated by Romano that the deal is now going to be completed imminently, with the two clubs close to reaching an agreement. It has been reported that United want the Cameroonian goalkeeper to be a part of their squad that travels to the USA later in July for their pre-season games.

Onana was hailed as an ‘exceptional’ goalkeeper by Pep Guardiola last season after the role he played in helping Inter make it to the Champions League final, having kept eight clean sheets in the competition. The 27-year-old is not only a solid shot-stopper but is impressive with the ball at his feet – having a wide range of passing ability and a tendency to kick-start big chances from his goal. Those qualities could help him be a popular figure at Old Trafford.
