Manchester United are yet to make an official bid to sign Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund, claims Fabrizio Romano. The Red Devils are on the lookout for a new striker after struggling with goals in the Premier League last season.

Rasmus Hojlund Keen on Manchester United Move
Manchester United haven’t bid €35m for Rasmus Højlund — it’d make no sense as Atalanta want €60/70m at least but Man United won’t overpay. 🔴 #MUFC
Højlund remains high on Man United list as talks took place.

United Holding Hojlund High on Summer Transfer List
Erik ten Hag struggled with the lack of a genuine, fit no.9 during his debut campaign at Old Trafford. Anthony Martial was injured for the majority of the campaign, which forced him to play Marcus Rashford up-front and sign Wout Weghorst on loan – bringing mixed results.

That is why the Red Devils have still kept a promising young forward like Hojlund high on their transfer list, states Romano. He adds that talks have taken place between the two camps in the past, but that talks of a £30 million bid being made by the Premier League giants are off the mark.
Romano claims that Atalanta will not be entertaining any bids below the £51.5 Million to £60.1 Million mark for the 19-year-old forward and that United have no intentions of overpaying for him. It’s also added that Hojlund himself is keen on a move to Old Trafford.
What Can Hojlund Bring to Old Trafford?
United appear to be closing in on their first transfer of the summer window, as they’ve reportedly struck an agreement with Chelsea to sign Mason Mount. However, signing a striker remains on their agenda and Hojlund could fulfil their requirements.
The 19-year-old has been linked with having similar traits as Manchester City goal machine Erling Haaland and has been described as a “speedy” striker in the past, despite actually being quite physical. He enjoyed a prolific debut campaign with Atalanta last time around, scoring 10 goals and providing four assists in 34 appearances.

Hojlund has even scored six goals in four matches for Denmark in the Euro 2024 qualifiers and has earned a reputation for his impressive finishing ability and counter-attacking threat. He seems to have all the skills to thrive under Ten Hag, but it remains to be seen if the Manchester Giants can get this deal over the line.
