Erik ten Hag Wants Replacement for Manchester United Star Ahead of New Season
Ten Hag Must Upgrade Many Areas This Summer
There are many positions that need an upgrade at Old Trafford this summer.
Most notably, the Red Devils require a new striker if they are going to compete at the top next season.
Anthony Martial was their main natural striker during the 2022/23 campaign, but he spent so much time on the injury table that he became an almost useless asset, regardless of the quality he displayed when fully fit and available for selection.

With on-loan Wout Weghorst having now officially departed, United must sign a new striker before transfer deadline day in September.
Likewise, with David de Gea currently out of contract in Manchester, the English giants may need to bring in a new number one.
There have been doubts of late as to whether or not the Spaniard has the on-the-ball skills required at a top-level side, and it may be time for the club’s longest-serving player to be replaced.
Last Word on Football have taken a look at all of these weak areas and more in putting together a prediction of how United could line up next season.
Ten Hag Demands Replacement for David de Gea
According to Simon Mullock of the Mirror, Ten Hag has made it clear that De Gea’s poorness with the ball at his feet means that he cannot serve as the Dutchman’s long-term first-choice option between the sticks.
The manager has requested a new goalkeeper to replace De Gea, and, as reported by The Athletic’s Laurie Whitwell, contacts have been made with both Andre Onana of Inter Milan and Feyenoord keeper Justin Bijlow.
