How Manchester United Have Lined-Up Recently
Erik ten Hag has seemingly found his strongest starting lineup to tackle the end-of-season fixtures in the last few games, most recently seeing his side plough through Chelsea to secure qualification for next campaign’s UEFA Champions League. But if the Red Devils want a top-3 finish and another trophy, they’ll need to keep that winning run going ahead of the final league fixture of 2022/23 followed by the FA Cup final against Manchester City.
United seem to have a settled backline for now consisting of the ever-present David de Gea in goal, with Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw all being mainstays. The midfield trio of Carabao Cup final hero Casemiro, Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes keep on starting games, while Jadon Sancho and Anthony Martial are gaining more of Ten Hag’s attention. There are, however, likely to be changes in place for the Fulham game because of the importance of the FA Cup final on June 3.
Manchester United Recent Form and Tactics
The Red Devils have picked up their form in recent weeks after sustaining back-to-back losses to Brighton and West Ham United at the start of May – they have since won their last three Premier League games to secure a top-4 finish.

Ten Hag has ensured that his side plays a high-octane, ultra-attacking style of football – which includes a lot of pressing, winning the ball in key areas and marching forward in numbers – at home this season. His 4-3-3 system works wonders and is unlikely to be changed anytime soon.
The Dutch gaffer will urge his side to maintain their high intensity against Fulham, with the Red Devils likely to use width to their advantage to carry the ball forward through the wide areas. They’ll aim to use their impressive counter-attacking ability and deploy a quick-passing style to break past the Fulham backline and end their league season with an action-packed goal-fest.
Manchester United Key Players
Ten Hag should make a few changes for this game and slightly tweak his lineup to catch the visitors off their guard. Marcus Rashford – once hailed as a ‘dangerous player’ by Kylian Mbappe – should come back into the starting 11 for this game after reaching 30 goals for the season. He’ll aim to use his speed and quick off-the-ball movement to get in behind the backline and test the goalkeeper with powerful shots.

Fernandes, who has been United’s workhorse this season, will aim to continue leading their attacking moves by driving the ball forward and creating chances with his brilliant final-third passes.
Alejandro Garnacho, who recently signed a new contract, should also come back into the lineup against Fulham and needs to use his explosive style to hurt the Cottagers. Sancho can sometimes be frustrating in the attack and needs to be more precise with his final product to ensure that the Red Devils can have a flexible, menacing front trio. Fred will be expected to add more creativity and energy in the middle, while Casemiro aims to continue being the X-factor with his aggressive style.
Injuries to Consider in the Manchester United Predicted Lineup
After picking up a bad injury against Chelsea, Antony is likely to be out for a long time. He joins Lisandro Martinez, Marcel Sabitzer and Donny van de Beek on the treatment table as the season draws to a close. Luke Shaw is also a doubt for Sunday afternoon.
