Manchester United will make an ambitious attempt at signing England internationals Harry Kane, Mason Mount, and Declan Rice in the summer transfer window, as per Sky Sports, although they are unlikely to sign all three.
The report states that United can expect to pay around £70 million for Mount and £120 million for Rice, while Harry Kane’s asking price is thought to be around the £88 million mark. All three of the players have contracts that expire in 2024, although West Ham have the option to extend Rice’s deal by an additional year.

Sky state that Kane, Rice and Mount are the exact kind of characters that Erik ten Hag wants in his dressing room next season.

However, Sky also claim that the internal feeling around United is that they’re unlikely to be able to sign these three players and everything depends on their possible takeover and how much the potential new owners are ready to invest in transfers.
With that being said, Sky claims that Kane is the Red Devils’ no. 1 summer target and the player whom Ten Hag wants the most in his squad. The Red Devils are also stated to be the leading frontrunners to sign Mount, who is currently facing a lot of uncertainty at Chelsea due to his contract situation.
Which of the Linked Players Do United Need the Most?
This potential triple swoop would be more expensive for United than their £200 million splurge last summer which included signing Antony from Ajax for a whopping figure.

At this point, if United will need to choose between these three linked players, Kane is the one they need the most.
The Manchester side have struggled with goal-scoring issues all season long and have scored the fewest goals among any side in the top half of the Premier League table. Marcus Rashford might’ve delivered 29 goals, but he will need help from a consistent goal-scorer and solid centre-forward to allow the Red Devils to strongly compete for major trophies.
That is why Kane, who was hailed as ‘exceptional’ by German football legend Jurgen Klinsmann earlier this season, is their no. 1 target after having scored 28 goals in the Premier League this campaign.
