Thomas Tuchel Identifies Rice and Rabiot
Florian Plettenberg has also recently reported that Tuchel has identified Rice as the perfect defensive midfielder for Bayern Munich. According to the report, Rice is available for around £70 million, but with interest from the red side of Manchester and Arsenal, obtaining the England international will not be easy. The Bundesliga giants seem determined to sign the West Ham captain, as they have already reached out to family members of Rice, who act as his agents.

Tuchel has also reportedly identified Adrien Rabiot as another player to strengthen his midfield. The French international is out of contract this summer with Juventus. Manchester United are keen to reignite their pursuit of the Frenchman after failing to sign him last summer. One of Ten Hag’s biggest issues this season has been the lack of depth in midfield. This issue was highlighted when Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes were suspended, and Christian Eriksen was injured.
What Qualities Rice and Rabiot Bring
According to The Athletic, Declan Rice has been vocal about his desire to play at the highest level: “One hundred per cent, I want to play in the Champions League.” This has seemingly confirmed that Rice will depart East London this summer. Wherever the England international decides to go, he will bring leadership to any team. He reads the game exceptionally well, which often sees him cut out dangerous attacks. Rice is not afraid to fly into a tackle when needed, and use his physicality to protect the ball, he is also effective at carrying the ball long distances under close control.

Adrien Rabiot is effective as a deep-lying midfielder or in a more forward role. He is physical in midfield and looks to win his personal battles. The Frenchman brings plenty of energy and work rate to any team he plays for, which would benefit, Manchester United and Bayern Munich. Rabiot has also expressed his dreams of playing in the Premier League, but it remains to be seen if the Old Trafford giants can beat off competition from the Bundesliga giants.
