Romano states that things have not changed since then and has dispelled reports claiming that Liverpool have already agreed a deal with Brighton to sign him. It’s added that Jurgen Klopp’s side are advancing towards possibly agreeing a deal for Mac Allister to join them next season.
However, the Reds will seemingly face stiff competition from fellow Premier League clubs for the signing of the midfielder – which probably means that they’ll need to put in a lot of work to convince Mac Allister to reject all other offers for them. Romano further states that the Argentine midfielder is expected to leave Brighton early in the summer.

This could indicate a shift in the midfield options for Liverpool after they were troubled by the lack of depth in that position this season. The Reds are also reportedly interested in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, but have already given up on the prospect of signing Jude Bellingham. With that being said if they can sign a quality World Cup winner like Mac Allister – who was hailed as an “all-round player” could help rejuvenate Klopp’s midfield next season.
