Fabrizio Romano Reveals Liverpool’s Stance on Signing ‘All Around’ Midfielder Valued at More Than £70 Million

Liverpool have not yet reached an agreement for the signing of Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, confirms Fabrizio Romano. The Argentine World Cup winner, who impressed in Qatar, is reported to be worth over £70 million by the Seagulls.

It has been reported that the Reds have taken steps forward to solidify themselves as the front-runners to sign the Argentine midfielder – and have even given him a financial offer and a broader explanation of their project.

Romano states that things have not changed since then and has dispelled reports claiming that Liverpool have already agreed a deal with Brighton to sign him. It’s added that Jurgen Klopp’s side are advancing towards possibly agreeing a deal for Mac Allister to join them next season.

However, the Reds will seemingly face stiff competition from fellow Premier League clubs for the signing of the midfielder – which probably means that they’ll need to put in a lot of work to convince Mac Allister to reject all other offers for them. Romano further states that the Argentine midfielder is expected to leave Brighton early in the summer.

Liverpool Eyeing Midfield Overhaul

It has already been reported that James Milner is likely to leave Liverpool in the summer window and join Brighton in the summer. Moreover, Naby Keita is also now seemingly leaving Anfield once his contract with the club expires at the end of the summer.

This could indicate a shift in the midfield options for Liverpool after they were troubled by the lack of depth in that position this season. The Reds are also reportedly interested in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, but have already given up on the prospect of signing Jude Bellingham. With that being said if they can sign a quality World Cup winner like Mac Allister – who was hailed as an “all-round player” could help rejuvenate Klopp’s midfield next season.
