How Liverpool Have Lined-up Recently
The Reds have undergone a difficult season so far, one which has been plagued with inconsistency and injuries. Irrespective of that, Jurgen Klopp has still stuck with his trusted players who helped win trophies for him.
Right now, the back-five of Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk, and Andy Robertson are best suited for the backline. In midfield, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson’s experience levels have kept their places, but Thiago Alcantara – once hailed as an ‘outstanding player’ by Roy Keane is ready to start again. Mo Salah remains Liverpool’s most dangerous attacker, with summer signing Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota adding a lot of threat in the final third.
Liverpool Recent Form and Tactics
Liverpool have really struggled for wins since their 7-0 rout of Manchester United in March, being winless in their last five games across all competitions and only having picked up one draw over that period.

Irrespective of their poor form, Klopp has not really made too many changes in their tactical approach. The Reds continue playing their 4-3-3 formation and attempt the best at ‘heavy metal football’. That includes pressing the opposition side in their own half and deploying a fast-passing style which involves a lot of the moves operating through the different wings.
Defensively, however, Liverpool have been shaky this season. They’ve struggled against fast build-up play and have often been quite error-prone in recent weeks – something Klopp will hope to fix in order to improve his side’s form.
Liverpool Key Players
Salah still remains Liverpool’s biggest attacking threat, despite his topsy-turvy outing against Arsenal. With his pace, impressive movement, and finishing ability, he can really trouble defenders and be the decisive factor for his side.
Nunez has become an important part of Liverpool’s side since joining as well. With his impressive off-the-ball movement and tenacity in the final third, he has the capability of creating something out of nothing. Jota is another attacker who covers a lot of distance, while also being quite prolific in the final third too.

Alexander-Arnold and Robertson are still Liverpool’s creative beacon and the Reds often need their precise delivery to score goals. The two need to be defensively solid in the Leeds clash but will prioritize creating chances by bombing forward with overlapping runs.
Liverpool Injuries to Consider
Stefan Bajcetic, described as Liverpool’s breakout star of the season, is out until the end of the season. Luis Diaz is ready to feature again and should be on the bench for the Leeds clash.
